How to Measure Your Gar
Total Length (L): Measure from the tip of the snout to the end of the tail with the fish laid flat. Use a tape measure along the body.
Girth (G): Measure around the widest part of the body — usually just behind the pectoral fins. Wrap the tape snugly around the full circumference. This is the most important measurement for accuracy.
