★★★★★

"We had seen him on a television show and wanted to experience the allure of Alligator Gar fishing. His diverse knowledge of the local fishery and hard work lead to us catching many beautiful fish in a unique area of the country. This is a rare experience and fishing trip that we now plan on doing every year."

"The fish are awesome and huge, second largest freshwater fish! As well as the gar speak for themselves. MUST DO FOR ANY SERIOUS FISHERMAN. Thanks for the memories and great trip. Will be seeing you again."

★★★★★

"Our trip was first class! No drama, no time-wasting, no excuses just a lotta hard work and big gator gar. We checked an item off my 18-year-old son's bucket list and caught some big Texas Tarpon! The best was 7.6 ft. - 200 lbs."

International Angler FAQ

What's the closest international airport?
Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Houston Intercontinental (IAH) are the two major international hubs — both about a 2-hour drive from our launch points. We can arrange ground transport on VIP packages.
Do I need a Texas fishing license as a foreign visitor?
Yes — anyone over 17 needs a valid Texas Freshwater Fishing License. Non-residents can purchase short-term licenses online at the TPWD website. We'll send you exact instructions when you book.
When's the best time of year to plan an international trip?
May through October is prime — warm water, active fish, and the most consistent action. Spring (April–May) and fall (September–October) offer great fishing with milder weather. We book trips year-round.
How many days should I plan for?
For international travelers, we recommend at least 2–3 fishing days. This gives you weather flexibility, multiple shots at a trophy, and time to truly experience the fishery. Most international clients book 3-day VIP packages.
Do you provide all the gear?
Everything. Rods, reels, terminal tackle, live bait, ice — all of it. You just bring sunscreen, a hat, polarized sunglasses, and your camera. We strongly recommend traveling light and using our equipment.
Is this fish dangerous?
No. Despite the legends and TV shows, alligator gar pose virtually no threat to humans — Jeremy Wade's River Monsters episode actually debunked the attack myths. They're prehistoric, intimidating, and powerful — but not dangerous to anglers handling them properly.
Can I keep a trophy fish?
No. All Garzilla trips are 100% catch-and-release. Alligator gar are slow-growing and we're committed to conservation. We'll get you world-class photos and measurements for your trophy mount replica.
What if I want to certify an IGFA World Record?
We've done it 18 times. We know the IGFA certification process inside and out — proper tackle, certified weighing, witness documentation, official measurements. If you're chasing a record, we're the only call to make.

The Bucket List
Starts Here.

International trips book 6–12 months in advance. If you're serious about chasing a 200-pound river monster — the one you saw on TV, the one you've dreamed about — let's get you on the calendar.
